Jonathan Saacks, Partner, Genesis Partners
Jonathan Saacks is a Partner at Genesis Partners and sits on the boards of a number of Genesis Partners portfolio companies including Correlix and Prime Sense, and was a board member at Yedda until its recent acquisition by AOL.
Jonny focuses on software investments, and in addition, is responsible for fund operations.
Prior to joining Genesis Partners, Jonny worked at Gemini Israel Funds as a principal where he concentrated on software investments and fund operations management. Earlier in his career Jonny was the VP of Business Development and Director of UK-based Waterlogic and one of the first employees atBarak International Telecom Corp., where he was responsible for overseeing product management, marketing and international partnerships and helped the organization grow to 400 employees. Jonny also served for ten years in the Intelligence Corps of the Israeli Defense Forces commanding large operational teams.
Jonny holds an MBA from Oxford University and a BA in Economics and Management from Tel Aviv University.
Bruce Taragin, Partner, Blumberg Capital
Bruce has 15 years experience as a venture capital investor, entrepreneur, technology investment banker and corporate attorney. Bruce's venture experience includes the following exits: eVoice - acquired by AOL [TWX], PureSight - acquired by Boston Communications Group [BCGI], Vista Research - acquired by McGraw Hill [MHP] and IP Infusion - acquired by ACCESS CO., LTD [TSE: 4813]. Prior to joining Blumberg Capital in 1998, Bruce held several senior management positions within technology companies including Charles River Computers. Bruce also structured and managed early-stage technology transactions at Hambrecht & Quist, Mayer Brown & Platt and Bankers Trust Company.
Bruce earned his BA in Finance and Communications, cum laude, from Yeshiva University, and his MBA and JD from Fordham University in New York.
Bruce serves as a member or observer on the Board of Directors of CaseStack, Insightix, LiteScape, and Correlix.
Anat Segal, Managing Partner, Xenia Ventures
Ms. Segal has over 16 years of experience in various corporate finance, investment and managerial areas with strong focus on high technology. Ms. Segal is part of Xenia Venture Capital founding team and served as Managing Partner since inception. In 2000 Ms. Segal established an independent strategic consulting and investment banking practice, having advised to over 20 companies on business planning, corporate development, M&A's and fund raising of private and public capital (NASDAQ, Tel-Aviv and European stock exchanges). Prior to that Ms. Segal was Managing Director & Head of Corporate Finance of Tamir Fishman, a leading Israeli investment banking firm and the then Israeli strategic affiliate of Hambrecht & Quist. Prior to that Ms. Segal held senior Investment and Investment Banking positions with Robertson Stephens/Evergreen (Evergreen Venture Capital Funds served as the Israeli arm of Robertson Stephens San Francisco-based Investment Banking firm), Poalim Capital Markets, and Bank Hapoalim International Division. Ms. Segal holds a degree in Economics & Management, an MBA and LLB. - All from the Tel-Aviv University. Ms. Segal also serves on the Board of Directors of Attunity (NASDAQ ATTU), Orad (AIM), Marathon Venture Capital Fund (TASE) and Prior-Tech (TASE).
Shawn Melamed, CEO and Founder
Shawn brings to Correlix years of business and technology management experience having led numerous business strategy and product development initiatives. Shawn is recognized as an expert in enterprise architecture and application development. As Partner and CTO of Strauss Strategy, Shawn managed enterprise technology solutions for international corporations in the Banking, Equity Trading, Insurance and Retail sectors as well as, with leading independent software vendors (ISV's). Additionally, Shawn has performed due diligence services for international venture capital funds and for major mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to Strauss, Shawn held several leading senior management positions at Navicula, PrimeNET and within the Israeli Defense Forces – Intelligence Corps. Shawn has significant international experience working with complex enterprise solutions in the United States, Europe, and Latin America.
Shawn graduated Cum Laude from Tel Aviv University with a Bsc in Computer Science and Biology as part an exclusive Bioinformatics program where Shawn was placed on Dean’s list.
Frank J. Fanzilli Jr., Director Mr Fanzilli has served as a Corporate Director and advisor to a number of companies in the technology field. Frank is the former Chairman of the Board of InterWoven, where he currently serves as an Independent Director and Chairman of the Strategy Committee; he is a board member at CommVault, which launched a successful IPO in 2006; and is also a board member and Lead Director at Calypso, a leader in derivatives processing software. Mr. Fanzilli has also served technology company boards in several other notable transactions, including as an independent director at PeopleSoft, up to and including the sale of that company to Oracle; and as an Independent Director at Avaya, which was acquired in a private equity engagement in 2007.
Mr. Fanzilli also spent nearly two decades on Wall Street, where he was Global Chief Information Officer and Managing Director Credit Suisse First Boston, where he retired in 2002. At CSFB, Frank was a member of the firm's Operating Committee and Information Executive Board, managed a global division in excess of $2 billion, and was based in New York, London, and Zurich. Mr. Fanzilli remains very active in the technology industry, and serves on the advisory boards of several venture capital firms, including Allegis Capital and FOCUS Ventures, both in Palo Alto. He is a Director-at-Large on the board of the Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to the use and dissemination of open source software. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Frank began his career in technology as a systems engineer with IBM.
Gili Rannan, Director
A successful serial entrepreneur who has recently served as VP of Strategy at EMC Corp, for its $700M system management software division. In 2003, Gili founded nLayers Inc, and served as CEO & President till nLayers 2006 acquisition by EMC Corp. nLayers is the recognized leader in the Configuration Management market. Between the years 1997-2002, Gili founded and served as the General Manager & SVP Products of Sanctum Inc, till its merger with Watchfire Inc. The merged company was later successfully acquired by IBM. Prior to that, Gili led several strategic projects at Amdocs Inc. and worked for the Israeli government in several key innovative software projects, and for this work Gili was awarded with the prestigious Israel Security Presidential Award of 1996. Gili is also the recipient of the Israeli Defense Forces' Innovation award of 1992.
Gili received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Economics from Tel Aviv University, with honors, and his MBA from The Recanati Business School, with honors. Gili owns 4 US patents and 1 Israeli patent, and others pending.
